Global Opportunities Fund

In 2003 City of Grace established the Global Opportunities Fund (GO Fund) in order to provide the financial resources necessary to strategically expand the global outreach ministries of City of Grace. Since then over $700,00 has been given to projects and ministries all over the world.  Medical supplies have been shipped to Iran and Afghanistan, help was provided to the victims of the Tsunami in Indonesia, churches have been planted all over the world, orphans and widows have been helped in Africa, pastors and leaders have been trained in Croatia, Turkey, Nepal and India, emergency relief has been given to earthquake victims, and the love of God has been shared with thousands of people.

How are the Outreach Ministries of City of Grace Funded?

The Outreach ministries at City of Grace are funded in three ways:

  • Most of our ongoing local and global outreach ministries are funded by a 10% tithe from the General Fund.
  • If you write "Outreach" on the memo line of your check, 100% of these funds go to the local and global outreach ministries of City of Grace.
  • The Global Opportunities Fund.  

How are Outreach Funds Used?

Each year the leadership of City of Grace Outreach ministries prepares a budget that is divided into the following broad categories:

  • Operating funds for staff, Heart for Others, Heart for the World, etc.
  • Local Outreach Ministries carried on by City of Grace or our ministry partners
  • Global Outreach Ministries carried on by City of Grace or our ministry partners
  • Support for missionaries working locally or globally. 

The GO Fund is used only for the global ministries of City of Grace.

How will the GO Fund be used in 2008?

In 2008 the GO Fund will be used in four ways:

  • HIV/AIDS and community transformation ministries in Africa (primarily Malawi).
  • Leadership development, Bible translation work, mercy ministries and new initiatives in Turkey.
  • Leadership development, church-planting, and youth and student ministries throughout Latin America.
  • Strategic projects and ministries throughout the world.

How Can I Give to the GO Fund?

You can give to the GO Fund by writing the following on the memo line of your check:

  • GO Fund - Africa -- for HIV/AIDS ministries in Africa
  • GO Fund - Turkey -- for ministries in Turkey
  • GO Fund Latin America -- for ministries in Latin America
  • GO Fund -- for undesignated gifts for global ministry.

During Heart for the World you will once again have an opportunity to contribute to the GO Fund. Ask the Lord how He would have you participate- whether through a one-time gift, or a regular weekly or monthlycontribution.  Remember, your contributions should be over and above yourexisting commitments to the General Fund.
